KYAUKPHYU SEZ EXPECTED TO START IN APRIL

Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone project in violence-hit Rakhine State
would start implementation by April in 2013, according to local
newspaper The Yangon Times.

According to secretary of the government tender committee for one of
three planned special economic zones in Myanmar Myint Thein.

The committee is accessing bids from consultant firms and the
successful bidder will be announced on November 27.

The developer of the project will be selected through open tender
system in December.

The committee expects the start of the implementation of the one of
the government's most ambitious SEZ projects.

Thirty one consultant firms have submitted expressions of interest in
the bidding for tender evaluation consultant firms.
