New Delhi, (IANS) To effectively use information technology for healthcare, India's Apollo Group of Hospitals has launched its tele-medicine service in Myanmar's former capital Yangon.
"Apollo Tele-Medicine Network will facilitate ready access to specialists and super-specialists for referrals, consultation, second opinion, reviews, post treatment follow-ups besides facilitating tele-continuing medical education programmes for the medical fraternity in Yangon," Preetha Reddy, managing director, Apollo Hospitals, said in a statement Saturday.
Apollo Hospitals said that with this facility, people of Myanmar can consult Indian doctors and access quality treatment and medical technology without coming to India.
The tele-medicine facility was inaugurated by Sailesh Thangal, deputy chief of mission of the Indian embassy at Yangon, along with Prathap C. Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals, who was joined by tele-link.
