Aung San Suu Kyi delivered a speech at Asean 100 Leadership Forum 2012 at Yangon

National League for Democracy chairperson Aung San Suu Kyi expressed her concern today over the lack of clear structure in Myanmar's reform process.

"Now there are many problems arising all over the country. I don't mean that I am satisfied with the transparent stage of the current government," Aung San Suu Kyi told the Asean 100 Leadership Forum held at the Sedona Hotel in Yangon.

Under the title "Resilience for the Turbulant Time'', Suu Kyi spoke about her support for the use of federal system in Myanmar's political system.

Suu Kyi believes in the practice of federal system. It was a right principle for the constitution. If the country practices the federal principle, she believes that the national races will become closer instead of being distant when she replied to a question asked by the audience at the forum.

In her speech, she expressed that the democracy system is not a complete system, but it can be shaped as the citizens like without harming the country.

She also said she will no longer need to worry when the change can be felt up to the grass roots, and there are no more fears and the country is in a safe situation.

She added that a country's speedy political transition is not the essence. It needn't to change rapidly, but we do need the trustworthy change. National reconciliation between ethnic groups and armed groups is what she really desired for the nation. She said she felt some democratic rights in Myanmar and people should apply rights properly.

The forum's agenda included open discussions and debates about issues facing in South East Asia mainly related to business, politics and civil society. One hundred persons from different sectors were invited to attend the forum.

"Forum intends to build mutual understanding within ASEAN," said Dato Timothy Ong, founder of Asia Inc Forum. ASEAN 100 Leadership Forum 2012 was the ninth forum organized by Asia Inc Forum.
