Young military leaders must study politics, economics, administration, and international affairs apart from military affairs, the commander-in-chief of Myanmar Defence Services said.
Commander-in-Chief Vice Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was speaking to army cadets at a graduation parade of the 55th Intake of Defence Services Academy (DSA) in PyinOoLwin on December 7.
In the 21st century, politics, military affairs, economics and administration are deeply interrelated rather than standing separately, he pointed out.
Economic changes in one region in the world may affect politics as well as military affairs of others, he added.
Changes in political ideology and settings of powerful countries can affect politics, military affairs, and economics of other countries. Young military leaders, therefore, need to study military affairs and other related fields, Min Aung Hlaing said.
Only then will they become good leaders for the country and the armed forces in line with the motto of the Defence Services Academy "The Triumphant Elite of the future".
The commander-in-chief then called on all the servicemen to adapt to changes and progress in the military as it promotes its capacity to become a standard army.
