A US business mission met Myanmar's top political figures on their tour to the once isolated country to support its ongoing reforms and explore opportunities.

The US-ASEAN Business Council delegation was formed with top US business executives.

They called on key political figures of the country such as president Thein Sein, lower house speaker Shwe Mann, Nobel laureate parliamentarian Aung San Suu Kyi.

The delegation was led by Mariano Vela, Unocal Myanmar Offshore chair and council's Myanmar committee chair and Alexander Feldmen, the president of US-ASEAN Business Council.

It was the second similar trip by the group to Myanmar. The first one took place one year ago.

"As we conclude our second mission, many of our members, including Coca-Cola, GE, GM, Ford, Deloitte, ACE, KPMG, Cisco and others have made investments or opened distributorships and representative offices," Feldmen is quoted as saying by the Nation.

The mission offered help for continued economic reforms in the country and 2014 ASEAN chairmanship.

They also held meetings with a host of government ministers and lawmakers.
