Yangon will adopt "Bus Rapid Transport" system to ease the growing traffic congestion in the largest city of Myanmar, the state media reported.
Yangon region authorities and Union government transport officials held a meeting in the commercial city Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by bus liners and sought solutions for traffic jams.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has proposed a plan to monitor the traffic flow of the city.
Technical bodies will be formed to develop the Bus Rapid Transport system.
Yangon is the most populous area in Myanmar and has one million population. Its bus transportation system and infrastructures are dilapidated.
The traffic jams have become common and significant since the government relaxed restrictions on car imports.
