CB BANK, MASTERCARD UNVEIL FIRST-EVER ELECTRONIC PAYMENT PLATFORM

CB Bank and MasterCard unveiled a new payment platform CB Bank EASI
Travel Prepaid MasterCard.


It is the first-ever electronic payment system to be launched in
Myanmar and a breakthrough in the electronic payment system.


The system has been successfully test run in connection with the
international payment network of MasterCard.


CEO of CB Bank Kyaw Lin said, "It is the launch of the first-ever
electronic payment service in Myanmar. We are happy to work in
cooperation with MasterCard."


Myanmar is a cash dominated economy where notes are widely used and
electronic payment is quite a stranger.


Some 500 restaurants, hotels and shopping malls in Myanmar with CB
Bank's Point of Sales will accept EASI Travel MasterCard.


MasterCard is the first payment network to obtain license in Myanmar.
