Robbers killed two security guards and a woman during unsuccessful break-in at Mandalay's Panasonic garage on the night of October 1, according to sources from Mandalay regional police.

Around midnight of Tuesday night, two security guards from PSS Security Company and the wife of one of the guards were brutally attacked with bricks, tied up and gagged.

"When company staff arrived at the office at around 7 am and found the main gate open and the dead body of a security guard in front of the office and a dead body of his wife nearby with injuries from beating. After alerting the police and superiors, they found another dead security guard with his mouth gagged in his mosquito net," Thet Naing Tun, a manager for Panasonic told the Daily Eleven.

The thieves then attempted to break into a safe box kept on the upper floor of the company office adjacent to the garage where the break-in occurred. They were unsuccessful as according to the manager nothing was stolen.

The police presume the lethal assault and attempted burglary happened around 1 am early morning. But security guards nearby said that they heard shouting and dogs barking after 11 pm.

"That's all we know at the moment because we haven't installed the security cameras in the company compound and a few people live nearby," added Thet Naing Tun.

The burglars are still at large and have been charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder by Lt. Police Captain San Nyunt Hlaing from No.11 police station in Mandalay.

"The case is being investigated by local police station and CID. We will cooperate to catch the culprits. We assume that the burglary is operated by a group to kill three people," commented a police officer from Mandalay police station.
