LUCK OF PEACE IN MYANMAR A POLITICAL REALITY, SAYS PRESIDENT THEIN SEIN

The lack of internal peace aspired by the people is the political
reality of Myanmar, reformist president Thein Sein said in his
monthly radio address to the country Tuesday.

He also said time would tell whether the approach to peace process or
the genuine intention to peace is right or wrong.

The president whose reform measures could convince the doubters that
the reign is willing to change the country said the peace measures
were initiated after objective considerations of these realities.

The government is hoping for reaching nation-wide ceasefire agreement
with all ethnic armed groups.

He also assured that the army and ethnic armed groups are eager to
ensure lasting peace in Myanmar and participate in the peace process
with patience and tolerance.

Despite many necessities and difficulties, the peace process could
reach a certain stage and achieve success to any extent, he said.

He thanked the leaders of ethnic armed groups, the armed forces and
the armed groups.
