An ICOMOS team has arrived in Myanmar to assess the country's bid to enter its ancient Pyu city Hanlin in central Myanmar Sagaing region in the world heritages list since January 24, according to the Voice report.
The ancient city site locates in Wetlet Township in Shwebo District in Sagaing Region, some miles away from Myanmar's second largest city Mandalay.
According to Archaelogy Department's Shwebo-Hanlin branch, the team will observe whether the site meets standards as Myanmar submitted "Nomati-On Dossiem" to make the entry.
Despite various archaeological sites in Myanmar, the country has no ancient site listed as the world heritage.
President office minister Hla Tun, Sagaing region chief minister Tha Aye and deputy culture minister Sanda Khin accompanied the group to the ancient site.
