Burma releases prisoners ahead of Barack Obama visit

"The Burmese government shouldn't be playing games with political
prisoners, releasing them in portions only when they want something,"
Phil Robertson, the deputy director of the Asia division of Human Rights
Watch, told the Daily Telegraph. "We want all political prisoners
released."

Earlier this week, international human rights activists held a meeting with
senior White House officials to urge President Obama to press Burma's
President Thein Sein on continuing human rights abuses in the country. They
include the detention of political prisoners and the ongoing sectarian
violence in western Burma's Rakhine State.
