Myanmar police needs modern equipments

Myanmar Police Force requires modern equipments, according to an official.

"The ratio of police force and the population is another problem. But the main problem is our lack of modern equipments," Chief of Myanmar Police Force Kyaw Kyaw Tun said.

He added that his office needed more budget to acquire these equipments, including vehicles and communication devices.

He said that the police experienced some communication problems during the visit of US President Barack Obama.

Myanmar Police Force has 330 township stations with 110,000 personnel across the country.

"We will send our police forces to Asian countries to get training courses this year," Kyaw Kyaw Tun said. "We will also send our men to the United States for training programmes."

He said that his office has recently re-established tie with a police training school in Thailand after it refused to give Myanmar police personnel training in 1988.
