4 die in Yangon gas blast

Four people died and four others were seriously injured in a gas explosion in the compound of Sawbwagyigone Wholesales Center and Truck Terminal in Yangon yesterday, local sources said.
The fatal accident occurred at Ngwe Lamin hardware shop when a gas cylinder used in cutting iron exploded there at about 2.30pm.
The accident first killed three, including a 14-year-old boy and injured five, one of them died in hospital later at about 6pm.
The cause of accident was still unclear, said police inspector Aung Myat Oo from Sawbwagyigone Police Station.
Min Lwin, a shop owner opposite the scene of accident, said: "The explosion was very loud. We had to put out the fire with fire extinguishers."
Other two shops next to Ngwe Lamin hardware shop were also damaged in the accident.
