Union Peace Making Committee members observe peace activities in US, EU countries

Union Peace Making Committee members are observing peace activities in Switzerland, United Kingdom (UK) as well as Ireland and the United States of America (US), Aung Naing Oo from Myanmar Peace Center told Eleven Media Group.
The 11-member delegation comprises Vice-Chairman of Union Peace Making Committee who is also Union Minister Aung Min, Union Ministers Khin Yi and Win Tun, Deputy-Attorney General Tun Tun Oo and members from Myanmar Peace Center are planning to make a two-week trips to these countries.
Aung Naing Oo also said that they went to EU countries before Thingyan Water Festival. While visiting in EU countries, they would explain Myanmar's peace activities and observe the nature of the EU's peace process. The trips will take about two weeks.
He continued that they will meet the expert groups who are interested in Myanmar's political affairs and discuss with them. Although they had been invited for a long time, they couldn't go to the EU countries because they have no time and very busy there. Now, they can't take a rest during Thingyan Water Festival. Due to result for observation of the EU countries, they can experience good advantages while carrying out the peace matters. Though they couldn't make a direct copy of other experiences, they can observe the peace activities and also study how to overcome the difficulties in facing the conflicts.
In this month, the ethnic armed groups representing United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) visited Japan where they met with officials including the Japanese Prime Minister and discussed those matters on peace activities.
Moreover, the Myanmar government is likely to hold discussions with Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) at the end of April and the delegates from the US, the UK as well as the United Nations and EU may participate in the discussion, according to the reports.
