Authorities arrest seven Bengali suspects for Sittwe violent protests

Myanmar authorities have arrested seven key suspects who are behind the violent protests against the official population assessment on Bengali migrants in the last week of April in Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine State, according to officials.
They are now on a charge of the hostilities occurred in the city during the process, the officials say.
The official process of assessing Bengali migrants in the state was suspended on April 26 due to
Bengali violent disagreement which injured even some of the officials who were in charge of the process and forced back, they said.
The seven suspects namely Kyaw Myint, Kyaw Khin, San Lin, Hla Myint, Ba Tha, Mamed Harshain and Sauliman from Thetkelpyin village, Sittwe are now on charges of assaulting the officials.
