INDIA’S ENERGY FIRMS TO BID FOR MYANMAR OIIL AND GAS BLOCK

India's state-owned energy companies ONGC Videsh Ltd, Indian Oil Corp and GAIL (India) Ltd will
submit bid for eight oil and gas blocks in Myanmar, reported Wall Street Journal which cited Indian
energy minister Veerapp Moily.

The plan is aimed at fulfilling the India's increasing energy demand through overseas oil and gas
deposits, the minister said.

Three-fourths of the country's energy were sourced outside India.
He said the companies could submit separate bids or combined bids, in tight competition with Chinese
and overseas firms.
