A county MP has visited Burma to see how UK aid is being used to help people displaced by conflict.
Alan Duncan, MP for Rutland and Melton, also met Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese opposition politician and chairman of the National League for Democracy in Burma, in his role as international development minister. As well as discussing the situation, he delivered a gift to celebrate her 68th birthday.
UK aid of more than £180 million from 2011 to 2015 is focussed on health, education and humanitarian aid to those affected by conflict.
In the Rakhine region, funding recently announced is providing safe drinking water for nearly 80,000 people and hygiene kits for up to 40,000.

With the start of the monsoon season many people are expecting to weather the season in tents and other temporary accommodation.
Mr Duncan said: "Burma has serious internal problems and real potential for the future.
"It was good to be able to discuss these with Aung San Suu Kyi as well as visit the camps for internally-displaced people.
"We are making a difference."
