Myanmar set its sight on 2021 FIFA U-17 qualifier









Myanmar is carrying out a nine-year plan to win 2021 FIFA U-17 qualifier, according to the meeting for upgrading of Myanmar Football standard organized by FIFA and Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) held at the federation on June 27.


President of MFF Zaw Zaw and FIFA executives, Jason, officials from Myanmar National Leagues, Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health attended the meeting to map out the plan.


The MFF is now implementing the 2012-2020 nine year-plan to participate in FIFA U-17 Football Tournament to be held in 2021.


Moreover, MFF is planning to lay down the 12 points project including improvement of Myanmar football standard, Grassroots Youth development project, selected teams, Fuse teams and conducting of coach and referee trainings.


"We will cooperate with those for improvement of Myanmar football standard. For changing into professionalism, it will help not only in the livelihood of the football players but also the development of Myanmar football standard," Zaw Zaw, president of MFF said.


He added, "Our goal is to participate in FIFA U-17 Football Tournament to be held in 2021. And then, we have aimed to compete in further competitions such as professional level and U-20 events. We will urge the federation to cooperate with the Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and parents of the students for upgrading of Myanmar football standard.


Jason also said that he would like to congratulate to MFF's president and executive members for their strenuous efforts for improving of football standard. The FIFA has already laid down four Goal projects and will allow further five Goal projects.
