INTERNET DISRUPTION EXPECTED TO BE SOLVED EARLIER THAN EXPECTED

Engineers of Myanma Posts and Telecommunications, the government-run
telecom services provider, are troubleshooting and repairing Internet
cables underground and underwater in delta area.



The damage to underground Internet cable caused occasional disruption
in the country where the Internet connection in notorious for being
too slow.



The repair works are being carried out in the delta town Pyapon in
Ayeyawady region.



A combined team of engineers from Yangon Headquarters of Myanma Posts
and Telecommunications and local engineers replaced power cables
underground in the town, the government-run Myanma Alinn reported.



The Myanma Posts and Telecommunications said the disruption could last
about one month, stirring the netizens in the country.



It said in an earlier press release that they would repair the cables
as soon as possible with the help of Singaporean engineers.



Yet MPT is reportedly working with Chinese companies to repair the
fault which is expected to resolve earlier than expected.
