Myanmar Archery Team to train in Korea









Myanmar's archery team embarked on a one month training mission to the Republic of Korea yesterday in preparation for the 27th South East Asia (SEA) Games to be hosted in Myanmar in December, according to the Ministry of Sports.


The Myanmar Archery Team comprises four coaches and 16 athletes and a selection will be in Korea between July 17 and August 14. They will also be preparing for the Asia Sports Competition in 2014.


The reserve athletes will practice in Innchun where the Asia Sports Competition is to be held and the remaining will be in Garwando. The team will undergo joint-training exercises with Korean archery athletes and participate in qualifying matches.


Myanmar has hosted the fifth South East Asia Archery Tournament and the team participated in First Asian Archery Contest held in Thailand in March. Myanmar Archery Team won gold medal awards in the SEA Games held in Indonesia in 2011.
