Sanctuary Retreats to launch new river cruise in Myanmar









Luxury cruise and safari specialist Sanctuary Retreats will launch a new river cruise vessel in Myanmar in late 2014, according to the company's press release.


Sanctuary Ananda will offer three, four, and seven-night cruises between Bagan and Mandalay as well as seven, ten and eleven-night cruises between upper and lower Ayeyawady river and Chindwin river. It will also sail to Yangon twice a year.


Each itinerary includes meeting indigenous people from small villages and observing local crafts, monasteries, and ancient archaeological sites.


The ship will have four decks and 20 spacious suites, accommodating a maximum of 48 guests. The Aloungpayah Suite, along with the 4 Luxury suites will also have private butler service.


The Talifoo restaurant will offer an early breakfast, including Myanmar's traditional breakfast mohinga (fish noodle soup) as well as cooked and continental breakfasts.  Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the Talifoo, or al fresco in the Mindoon restaurant, according to the press release.


Prices start at £1,669 per person, based on two people sharing a Deluxe Suite including all meals, soft drinks and local beer.
