The Union Level Peace Implementation Central Committee was amended and reformed with the order of President Thein Sein on July 5.
Two new ministers and one new director-general of President Office are parts of re-constitution of the central committee.
Chaired by President Thein Sein, the re-constituted central committee substituted former director-general Min Zaw of the President Office with currently-appointed director-general Hla Tun of the same ministry.
Former Defence Minister Lt-Gen Hla Min was replaced with newly-appointed Defence Minister Lt-Gen Wai Lwin and former Border Affairs Minister Lt-Gen Thein Htay with newly-appointed Lt-Gen Thet Naing Win as the committee members.
The central committee was formerly formed on May 3 in 2012. After the resignation of former Vice-President Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo from his committee member post, he was substituted with new Vice-President Nyan Tun on August 16 in 2012 and it was the first time in the reformation of the committee. Now is the second-time reshuffle.
The main tasks of the central committee cover adoption of policies, supervision, foreign relations, fund-raising and planning rules and regulations as to expenditures.
