One of Asia's final economic opportunities, Myanmar has attracted a slew of foreign companies since landmark reforms were introduced in 2011, yet the quantity and quality of available residential and commercial offerings remains a barrier for many looking to set up shop in the country's first city, Yangon.

Since the gradual removal of its long- standing pariah state shackles, Myanmar has been viewed with anxious optimism by overseas investors and businesses looking to lay down footprints in the economic sand. Naturally, the real estate sector has garnered a great deal of interest and, of late, a number of industry milestones have been achieved, one of the most notable being the launch in July of a Colliers International Yangon office – breaking ground for international property firms in the Golden Land.
