The new flight is jointly sponsored by the Mon State Government Committee and Thailand. Mon State Government is promoting tourism in the state and Thailand is their main target according to the Mon State Government Office.

"We are holding discussions mainly with Thai tourism groups. We are planning to start the flight in September 1," said Mon State Minister Toe Toe Aung. But he didn't confirm which airline will be operating.

Mon State will promote prominent destinations like the famous Kyaik Htee Yoe Pagoda, Belu Island, Kyai Kha Mi Yay Lei Pagoda, Set Se Beach, and Than Byu Zayat war cemetery. New arrivals have been on the increase last year in the Mon State.
