Myanmar and Bangladesh border trade has been fallen short as the shops in the neighbouring country are closed in Ramadan Sabbath Period, Daily Eleven reported.
The border gate is kept open, but it is virtually nothing when the trade is off.
A Myanmar trader told Daily Eleven, "Border gate didn't close but the shops of the country (Bangladesh) are closed. Shops in Maungtaw also closed and trading fell short."
The trade between the two countries has resumed as the shopkeepers returned to their trading activities since 13 August.
Rakhine State witnessed the widespread of sectarian conflicts in the previous year and there is still tensions between the two communities.
