MYANMAR,AUSAID HOLD HIGHT-LEVEL CONSULATIONS

Myanmar and AusAID of Australia held first-ever high-level consultations in the country's administrative city Nay Pyi Taw Monday, Myanma Alinn reported.



The meeting at Aureum Palace Hotel was attended by national planning minister Dr Kan Zaw and deputy director general of AusAID James Batley.



The minister stressed the need to ensure close cooperation between sectoral working groups and AusAID.



AusAID is working actively in areas of health, education, revenue management, electoral process, peace efforts, census compilation and mining sectors.



The meeting also focused on technical assistances, ASEAN Economic Community, humanitarian aids, democratic transition, good governance and development cooperation.


It has offered three-year economic cooperation package between Myanmar and Australia.


Union Election Commission chairman Win Ko and other government ministers were also present at the meeting.
