Myanmar's Parliamentary speaker has warned MP's to avoid words that can harm national unity and consolidation, saying that parliament is not just an ordinary forum.
Speaker Thura Shwe Mann made the warning before 25 MPs who were discussing a report submitted by the commission for investigation into land confiscation during a parliamentary session in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.
"I want to tell you about some precautionary facts. It is necessary for the MPs not to use words leading to harm national unity and national consolidation. Moreover, you should not hold any unclear and indecisive discussion. We must understand that our parliament is not a place where a normal workshop takes place," said the speaker.
He also highlighted the importance to spend the time beneficially as the parliament makes legislation in the interests of the nation and people. During a discussion, MPs must pay attention to what the speaker seriously points out, Shwe Mann added.
