SINGAPORE: Singapore swimmer Joseph Schooling on Wednesday said that he is aiming to win four gold medals at the upcoming SEA Games in Myanmar.
Schooling broke national records for the 200-metre butterfly and 200-metre individual medley events at the recent FINA World Swimming Championships in Barcelona.
The swimmer is based in the US but is back home in Singapore following the World Championships.
His focus is now on the SEA Games, where he hopes to improve on his 2011 results; Schooling won 2 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze at the 2011 SEA Games.
Schooling is also working on improving his technique and hopes to create a splash at the 2016 Olympics.
"I am looking for a deferment from NS (National Service) so that I can continue my training. My parents are handling that right now -- my job is to swim as fast as I can and let my swimming do the talking," he said.
