Border gates along bustling Myanmar-Thai border have become
international gateways accepting entries by citizens of third
countries since the end of August, reported MRTV-4 which cited an
official of Immigration and Population Ministry.
The designated gates along the border are Tachilek-Maisai,
Myawady-Maesot, Hteekhee-Punarong and Kawthoung-Ranong border gates.
The gates will allow passage of Myanmar and Thai citizens and other
third country citizens to make visit to each other country with Visa
of the respective country.
Those who entered from the route could make their departure from any
international airport in Myanmar or Thailand.
The entry of foreigners through Myanmar-Thai border gates was not
allowed previously as the area has been listed limited area. The new
plan was made possible by agreement between the two neighbouring
countries.
