Imphal, October 08 2013 :
Regarding the controversy surrounding the border fencing work along Indo-Myanmar border at Moreh, ATSUM, ANSAM, KSO and HTC Moreh have urged the Government to bring out a white paper.
A joint meeting of the four civil organisations held yesterday at the border town discussed the issue at length and resolved to urge the Government to bring out a white paper.
Further resolving that no part of Manipur should be gifted to the neighbouring country without people's consent, the meeting agreed to fight back in case the Government goes ahead with the border fencing work leaving out many villages and their land to Myanmar.
The meeting also took strong exception to the likely possibility of bifurcating some outlying villages between India and Myanmar on account of the border fencing.
A joint team of the four civil organisations made a spot inspection of the controversial border fence on Sunday last, informed a source.
