Golden Airline to touch ground at 9.30 am, Nov 21

Tulihal Airport would finally debut on the international aviation map on November 21, more precisely at 9.30 am, when Golden Myanmar Airlines aircraft makes it maiden landing at the airport.

Chief Minister today presided a high level meeting and discussed about the Government's preparations for the Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival 2013 scheduled to kick off from 4 pm of November 21, coinciding with the historic landing of an international flight from Myanmar at Imphal.

The meeting held in the Cabinet room was attended by Ministers, Chief Secretary, DGP, top ranking civil and police officials.

The year's Sangai Festival which is expected to showcase Manipur's tourism potential to the outside world would continue till November 30 .

The State Government is planning to invite DoNER Minister Pawan Kumar Singh Ghatowar to open the gala event.

The Golden Myanmar's first flight to Manipur would bring Chief Ministers of Myanmar's Saigang and Mandalay divisions as well as Meitei diaspora and media persons from the neighbouring country.

Security arrangments for the Myanmarese delegation figured prominently in today's meeting.

The delegation, after their landing at Imphal, would be shown Shija Hospital, RIMS and the High Court complex.

Chief Ministers of Saigang and Mandalay would grace the opening ceremony of the Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival as special guests.

Together with Chief Minister O Ibobi, the two Myanmarese Chief Ministers would head for Dibugarh to attend the North East Business Summit on November 22 .


Meanwhile, it is reported that KB Enterprises would officialy open ticket sale for Imphal-Mandalay flights and return flights.

It is estimated that the onward and return journey would cost around Rs 11,500 .
