Japan's fifth largest banking firm Resona Holding is considering a
move into Myanmar following the footsteps of its partners, according
to a Pyi Myanmar report.
Japan's largest banks such as Maruhan have already made Myanmar entry
with the opening of representative offices.
The firm's chairman Kazhuiro Higashi told the Pyi Myanmar that the
bank's partners have started to invest in infrastructural development
sector of the country.
The substantial Japanese investments would be seen in the near future
in Thilawa Special Economic Zone near Yangon.
The chairman also said the Japanese firms have started to enter
Myanmar and inject investments into projects of Myanmar.
He also said the relatively lower production cost in the Southeast
Asian country invited investments from Japan.
