Myanmar's Nobel laureate democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi is due to visit Australia in November to attend a conference on discrimination against HIV/AIDS victims, according to the local newspaper Voice report.
She would attend the meeting as a UN ambassador on discrimination against HIV/AIDS victims.
The parliamentarian will leave for Australia on November 27 and spend a few days in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney before her departure to Myanmar on December 2, according to a press release by her party National League for Democracy.
The UN HIV/AIDS Conference is scheduled to be held in Sydney.
She just arrived back in Myanmar from her tour to five European countries during which she spent 16 days in Italy, France, Britain, Luxembourg and Belgium away from the parliament in session.
The National League for Democracy the party she leads has to overcome a crucial juncture as the party's top agenda constitutional revision is expected to come to life in December.
