Local IT experts said they would conduct a non-profit research on Myanmar language system for use in various platforms, according to a local newspaper Kumudra.
The group will start their project after negotiations with top mobile handset providers in Myanmar market including, but not limited to, Samsung, HTC and so on.
"We will volunteer the research not on technology but on the usage of Myanmar language," Zaw Zaw Myo Lwin, a member of the group, said.
There is no standard Burmese language system and usage for technological terms.
"Some translate while some transliterate," Zaw Zaw Myo Lwin said.
He continued to say that there are discrepancies in meaning and spelling.
"The research will go on in the long run. The companies will have to work on technological matters. We will just provide the standard as a result of research and make available to everyone," the lead organizer said.
