The midnight open-air market near Botahtaung jetty will add to
nightlife in Myanmar as from mid-December, according to the market
developer Palemyay Company.
The company which has won the tender to operate the market will open
the riverside market with 24 shops in mid-December, Thiri, an official
of the company, told 7Day.
The potential shopkeepers could apply for shops at Palemyay Company.
"We would assess the applications for shops in a meeting and select
those who could abide by rules and regulations," Thiri said in quote.
The company has leased the land from Myanma Port Authority at the rate
of K 100 million per month.
The land is 60 feet long and 20 feet wide and will have a car parking.
A local company Hla Hla Pa Pa has also won tender to open a five-star
float hotel at the jetty.
