ESCAP, Infosys, Indian government and Myanmar government will work in cooperation to initiate pilot Information Technology Capacity Development Programme, according to the press release.
A total of 25 Myanmar IT engineers and entrepreneurs will receive a 12-week intensive training for software development in India.
Infosys is the Indian-based IT solution provider helping Myanmar government prepare its e-government system.
Noeleen Heyzer, ESCAP executive director, said in her address to the forum, "ESCAP has worked closely with the Myanmar government to strengthen the capacity of small and medium enterprises to help meet these challenges, especially through the empowerment of women and youth."
