MTI, a local tech conglomerate formed with 80 IT firms, is preparing for the launch of Mobile Money services, according to Internet Journal report.
MTI has planned to embark on the first local mobile money services in Myanmar as it integrates into a conglomerate, according to a member of Board of Directors Tun Tun Naing.
The company will work in partnerships with local banks owned by nationals, according to the report.
The service is scheduled to be launched in May.
MIT will claim the position of data center, technology and operation while the monetary services are expected to be offered by the partner banks.
"Especially the banks will assign agents," said the director.
Norway-based telecom service provider Telenor is also planning to offer the mobile money services in Myanmar.
