Houma-area to send donations to tornado-hit Mississippi

HOUMA, Louisiana — An 18-wheeler will leave Houma-Thibodaux on Saturday morning to bring donated items to Louisville, Mississippi, which was hit hard by a tornado earlier this week.


The Courier reports (http://bit.ly/R99MPU ) donations are being collected between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday at 803 Douglas Drive in Houma. Items needed include medical supplies, clothes, shoes, toiletries, hair brushes and combs, sunscreen, bug spray, towels, non-perishable food and water.


Other drop sites include Burma Hall at Burma Road, St. Charles Bypass Road and Thibodaux United Visions on Taxi Road on the Houma Airbase.
