Vice President Sai Mauk Kham visits refugee camps in Rakhine State









Dr. Sai Mauk Kham, the Vice President of Myanmar on December 7 visited refugee camps in Rakhine State.


 The vice president and delegation accompanied by government official, UN's officials and foreign diplomats had arrived Sittwe last Friday. The delegation met with officials from the Rakhine State and discussed about current situation of refugee camps.


Lieutenant General Thein Htay, Minister for Border Affairs explained the current situation and requested the necessary assistances for refugees by presenting video records at the discussion.


The vice president and delegation visited the Bengalis refugee camps in Saparlay in Minpya Township, Taungbwe and Maungtaw in Kyauktaw Township.


They also visited Rakhine villages in Mawrawady, Shweyinaye and Thayaykone.


During the visit, the delegation met the locals and had discussions.


On December 8, the vice president and delegation visited refugee camps in Kyalnepyin village of Pauktaw, Ohntawkyi, Bawduba and Mingan in Sittwe area.


 General Hla Htay Win, union minister Khin Yi and union minister Myat Myat Ohn Khin were included government delegation.
