Procter Gamble to offer two billions of purified water by 2020

Procter Gamble expects to offer two billions of purified drinking water to various countries by 2020, said Dr. Greg Allgood, Director of PG CSDW Program.

The countries list to offer includes Myanmar but the quota for Myanmar has still unknown. PG Children's Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW) will assist the disaster areas and regions facing the difficulty in getting clean water in normal condition in different countries around the world.

Together with World Vision (NGO), PG has helped those who are lacking the hygienic water due to the consequences of catastrophes to get the purified drinking water in Myanmar.

PG aided 25 millions litres of purified water to the Nargis hit areas. In 2011, PG sent 4.5 millions of water purification packets to Myanmar. Also, flooding areas in 2012 like Thapaung, Kawthoung, Loikaw, Hpa-an, Launglon and Theyetchanug have received the assistance of PG.

Procter and Gamble (PG) is the American-based global company and it produces different consumer products in different market sectors with marketing strategies.

Since 1995, the company has taken the Corporate Social Responsibility under Childresn's Safe Drinking Water program.

Manufacturing the 'PG Purifier of Water' is to help the regions lack of clean water. Each packet can purify 10 litres of water, killing protozoa from the contaminated water and insects and bacteria causing diarrhoea and hepatitis.
