France is exploring possibilities for cooperation with the Myanmar government in electric power sector, according to official reports.
Head of Yangon region government Myint Swe held a meeting on cooperation in electric power with the French commercial attache, the government-run New Light of Myanmar reported.
According the report, the chief minister expressed that the country urgently needs infrastructural development.
He also said the electricity demand in the country's growing, following growth in industrial sector and economic development.
Myanmar is seeking international assistance for improvement of the power generation.
Myanmar is in cooperation with France in various fields which include, livestock breeding, fishery, education, culture, tourism and agriculture.
