Myanmar to start importing LNG


 



Bangkok: Despite having its own abundant supplies of gas and oil, Myanmar is ready to start importing LNG to cope with rising demand for electricity. 



The ministry of electricity has just announced a tender for private investors to import LNG with officials estimating the country needs around 500m cu ft per day for the many new gas-fired plants across the country. [09/07/13]
