Central Bank of Myanmar is making preparations to enable mobile
banking system in Myanmar, according to official sources.
The central bank is in the process to enable mobile banking in Myanmar
and is expected to start the mobile banking system in coming October,
local newspaper Daily Eleven reported.
The final stage of the various steps taken by the central bank is
release of directives for the mobile banking which would allow private
banks to start their mobile services arms.
"We are preparing to unveil (the system) in October. We will release
directives as soon as it comes to life," a central bank official told
Daily Eleven.
A few private banks are expected to provide mobile banking services
when the central bank releases the mobile banking rules and
regulations.
