MYANMAR PRESIDENT WELCOMES MORE GOVERNMENT SCRUTINY FROM PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE

Myanmar president Thein Sein sought scrutiny over his government's
undertakings in a message sent to the the Lower House Rule of Law and
Tranquility Committee led by Nobel laureate parliamentarian, according
to the report by local newspaper The Voice.

According to a member of the committee, the government requested the
committee to point out weak points of the government in various
aspects.

The parliamentary committee submitted the annual report on the
executive and the judiciary at the combined house in seventh regular
session in August.

The report was sent to the president by the combined house.

The annual report criticized the judicial system and the institutional
weakness of a government's administrative agency.

According to the source, the president requested the wholesome
scrutiny over his government mechanism.

"The president wants more detail analysis in the report," secretary of
the committee Win Myint told The Voice.
