Myanmar will host the 43rd ASEAN Banking Conference for the first time
in Sedona Hotel in Yangon on November 13-14, the Voice reported,
citing banking industrial sources.
Difficulties and policies of banks in ASEAN will be discussed at the
conference, according to senior general manager of Myanmar Oriental
Bank Than Win.
Private banks in Myanmar are expected to send representatives to the
conference to establish their connectivity with other ASEAN banks.
The conference was organized by ASEAN Bankers Association and the
previous year's event was hosted by Malaysia.
The association was formed in 1947 with banks from Indonesia,
Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Myanmar accessed into the association in 2001 and its ninth member.
