Myanmar writers have established PEN Myanmar and have the accession
into PEN International confirmed in the network's 79th conference, the
Voice reported.

PEN International is helping dissent writers around the world and
protecting their rights.

PEN International congress has confirmed the accession of PEN Myanmar
into the network, said Myanmar dissident writer Ma Thida (Sangyoung).

The network is organizing literary festivals, preserving ethnic
literature, fighting for the rights of writers and presenting literary
awards, according to Myanmar blogger Nay Phone Latt.

He was honoured by PEN America award in 2010 while he was imprisoned
by the military regime.

PEN Myanmar is formed with poets, essayists, novelists, editors and journalists.
