Burmese national Satya Narayan Goenka, teacher of Vipassana meditation and founder of an international network of meditation centers, died at the age of 90 on Sunday in Mumbai India, Irrawaddy reported.
President of India gave honour with the Padma Awards.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 1 in Mumbai.
He was born on January 30, 1924 in Burma and he learnt the meditation technique practiced by Lord Buddha to attain enlightenment from Sayagyi U Ba Khin.
Guru Started teaching mediation to the people in 1969 at numerous centres in different countries on basis.
