The World Bank said it is working in cooperation with Myanmar
government agencies and other partners to provide adequate electricity
to the people in Myanmar.
The report on official World Bank web site that the electricity is
crucial for take development to the hands of the people.
"When there is no electricity we use generators, but with generators,
we can't run all the machines, and the cost increases because we need
to pay for fuel," the report quoted Tun Tun Oo, Thazin Printing
Company as saying.
Myanmar is facing the electricity deficiency as the country moves
ambitiously towards development and the foreign investors rush into
the country.
Last year, Myanmar saw the candle-lit demonstration as the government
cut the electricity supply dramatically during the summer.
Myanmar relies heavily on hydropower power with about one third of
electricity supply coming from hydropower, reducing its supply
capacity in the hot and dry seasons.
