Complaint against Police Captain for Verbal Taunts in Mindat

14 November 2012: Youth volunteers in Mindat town of Chin State sent a letter to Township Administration Office, complaining against U Thein Lwin for his verbal remarks.

Commander of Mindat Township Police Forces was accused of bursting out verbal attacks to members of the Cho youth community who were voluntarily providing cleaning services on the streets of the town.


Remarks by U Thein Lwin said the youth volunteers confusedly started messing around and working before dawn, according to a Chin local as quoted by the Chin World Media.


The complaint letter demanded that U Thein Lwin be warned against his recent behaviour and that the community work carried out on a voluntary basis by the youths be acknowledged.


In the letter, the Chin youths also called on Mindat Township Administration Office to take necessary measures in order to prevent it from happening again.


The Cho youth group have already provided hygienic and sanitary services on the streets and their surroundings six times since 10 November 2012.
