Tens of people held a peace rally in Yangon on Sunday in support of President Thein Sein's moves towards peace and development, a member of One Myanmar group, which organized the event, said.
About 50 people from the group walked along Pyay Road from Myaynigon traffic lights in Sangyoung township to Inya lakeside in Hline township.
They were holding placards reading, 'We fully support and welcome the moves being implemented by the state executive sector led by president Thein Sein' and 'We welcome the peace and development efforts the president is exerting.'
Moe Kyaw Thant from One Myanmar said the rally under the title 'Union Peace Rally 2013 would be held once every four months.
"We will hold the peace rally once every four months. We are doing this as much as we can to help ensure peace in the country," he said.

The rally took place after permission had reportedly been sought from the concerned township police force.
Another member Swe Hsan Oo also explained: "We didn't seek help from any party or organisation. Two or three friends of ours initiated the movement. We used the name of the president on the placards as he is the one who steers our country. We will praise his moves to motivate him to exert better efforts."
One participant, Win Kyaw said: "I am from Dawbon township. I came here as a colleague took me. I knew it was a peace rally only when I got here."
